Story
Most of us fight the dark with old things. Rituals worn smooth by repetition, relics older than the languages carved on them, grit handed down like a family debt. Inventors look at all of that, nod politely, and then ask whether anyone has tried building something better. They believe the answer to an ancient horror might be sitting one good prototype in the future, and they intend to go get it.
